High School Senior Girls Session…

High School Senior Portraits are a big deal in a young persons life, at least they were for me! It only happens once, so it’s important to make it special and take adequate time to plan it out. I have 3 packages listed for Senior Sessions, but if you’d like something extra worked in, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do! :)

I rarely work alone when I shoot. I will always have my husband or my son assist me on the day of the session. I pack a wagon complete with all of my equipment and things I use on the shoot and they help me along, which makes my job so much easier. I also will have them take some audio and video of me working for my social media pages, so I will be sure to ask you before hand if you would rather not have that in your session. I want to respect your privacy and would never want your session to feel uncomfortable!

I like to have a meeting with my senior and see and hear all about her big ideas for her photo shoot. I also like to give you my phone number so you can text me whenever you need to, or to ask a quick question.

There are usually a few props that they like to bring with. Letterman jacket, her vehicle, pets, instrument, sport ball, cap & gown, etc. If you don’t want a prop, that’s ok too!

I always travel with a changing tent to make outfit changes speedy and convenient. I can also bring a full length mirror to make sure everything is in place. I recommend bringing the make up you used for touch ups, and hair products if necessary. A lunch box packed with a light snack and water bottle might be a good idea in the summer too. One summer the mosquitos were especially thick, luckily my clients brought mosquito spray and shared with me. (I heard pure vanilla works as well! :)

Pick a friend, sister, mom or whoever you want with you! It’s going to be handy for them to grab you something or help keep track of stray hairs. They will be your assistant for the session. I’ll be sure to get you two some pictures together as well!

Explore some locations before you commit to one. You’ll want to go to the location at the time of day that we plan to shoot. You’ll be able to see the warm tones the sun makes during that golden hour and give you a good feel for the way the photos will look in your gallery. I like to do Senior Sessions between June & September for the sake of lighting. After that, the sun likes to set very quickly and it becomes less predictable. So book with me early and reserve your session ahead of time.

Pick a location that speaks to you or that is special to you. If you’d like to leave that up to me, I will run with that and give you a great location. That’s no problem! ;)

Decide how many looks you want to do and pick them out at home. Make sure your clothes FIT well and are free of stains and imperfections. Always press your clothes if they appear wrinkled. Removing wrinkles in Lightroom takes 25 business days LOL. Also, give yourself a little peace of mind and practice styling your hair ahead of time before the day of the shoot. If you’re looking for a hair salon, Salon Cappello in Liberty Lake, WA is amazing. Lots of very experienced stylists to chose from. My own stylist there has been doing my hair for 15+ years and I highly recommend that salon. I believe they also do lash services. They have a boutique in the salon with some REALLY cute outfits as well. *Just a thought*

Make a Pinterest board of inspiration photos and share it with me! I love seeing what you like and how I can add more of what you’re looking for to your gallery. It’s also a great place to style your outfits and decide on the look of your location.

Don’t worry about posing yourself, this is my job to prompt you! It’s taken me quite a bit of practice posing people, but I have taken the time to learn and will lead you every step of the way. Not every pose is going to work for every girl, so I have lots of them planned ahead of time. If one makes you look stiff and unnatural, I’ll just move on to the next. Everyone is a little different and it never works out the same with each client. That’s kind of the beauty of it though, 5 different girls will make the same pose unique in 5 different ways. Win, win.

After your session, I will send or post a SNEAK PEEK of your gallery on social (unless you don’t want to share). I will most likely take 1-2 weeks depending to send you your full gallery. I will keep you posted as I go and let you know right away when the gallery is ready. The gallery is included in your initial price, it will NOT cost any extra. I will email it to you from Pic-Time. You will be able to click the link, download any/all Hi-Resolution images for both web and print, and share as you like. I do not make prints or products, myself. Pic-Time has a store front, but it’s VERY spendy. My favorite place to print from is Shutterfly, but you can print wherever you would like. Shutterfly in my experience has really low prices, really nice quality, and many different products to choose from. I also really like Tiny Prints for announcements and invitations.

If you made it this far, thanks for sticking around and reading the blog! I look forward to making your photo dreams come true :D
